R. 8409 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES April 21, 2026 Mr. Frost (for himself, Mr. Ezell , Ms. King-Hinds , and Mr. Moskowitz ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to establish parity for submission and decision timelines for appeals of assistance decisions under such Act, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Post-Disaster Protection Act . 2. Appeals of assistance decisions Section 423(a) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 5189a(a) ) is amended by striking 60 days and inserting 90 days .
